Adam Lambert visits Knoxville
City pride. For anyone that questions where Knoxville's position stands in the country, let it be settled; Knoxville, while being a mid size city, is on the big time circuit. On July 6th, Adam Lambert, the high profile, American Idol Season 8 runner up performed to a sell out crowd at the Tennessee Theater.
Fourth of July 2010, The KokOasis
The KokOasis had a full weekend of fun, sun, good friends, and good times. We went to our favorite cove, by the Sky Ranch Airport, about 12 miles down river. Here are some pictures to remember.
Sailgating with The VOL Navy
Football weekends in Knoxville are always filled with the sights, sounds and scents that rekindle spirits and evoke perpetual optimism. For Kevin Jeske & Andrew Polyak, VOL Navy, football weekends actually begin on Wednesday when the huge armada of cruisers, sailboats, houseboats & luxurious yachts begin to amass at the docks adjacent to Neyland Stadium on the Tennessee River. No “official” membership, permit, or reservation is required. These vessels just arrive and tie up to one another in rows extending from the dock - sometimes as far as 14 wide.
Mixing it Up at Ruths Chris . . .
Thanks to Paul Hohe, Frank Aloise, Brad Freeman & the entire staff at Ruth's Chris Steak House for the delightful event they hosted for the community at Volunteer Landing Marina on Saturday afternoon (June 12). And special thanks to everyone from our community who attended, including: Aaron T, Anastasya L, Andrew P, Barbara D, Bill D, Connie H, David K, Dee G, Elizabeth T, George D, Jim H, John H, Kenny C, Kevin J, Laura B, Mara H, Mark M, Nancy D, and Rich B.
The hospitality provided by the staff at Ruth's Chris is top notch and the flavors that come out of that kitchen are to live for! The Prime Beef Ribeye Sliders with Horseradish Cream Sauce, Crab Stuffed Mushrooms, and Seared Ahi Tuna with Spicy Mustard were all outstanding. Knowing that these "Prime Bites" are available on the Prime Hour Menu for just $4.95, $6.95, and $6.95, respectively EVERY DAY until 7 pm, that's some news worth passing along! And how about a 10 oz Broiled Hamburger with Fries for just $5.75? Are you kidding me? And, if that's not enough, consider the "Prime Libations" Craig & Cooper are serving up at the bar, including: Martinis & Cosmopolitans for $7.95, Mixed Well Drinks & Prime Wines for $4.95 and Miller High Life for $2.50!
Be sure to spread the word throughout our community and let's get together regularly at our Ruth's Chris Steak House!

For ten years we have chosen Knoxville and VLM as our second home. It has never disappointed us and special memories continue to be made. Whether it is relaxing on the river or walking to the city and exploring all of the new retaurants and shops, Knoxville has given its all. Each new friend we have made comes with stories that are exciting to share. One such couple came to the marina from California. They started their TN River adventure in Knoxville. They traveled the river in a small sailboat and fell in love with the area and the people.
The Great White Shark
Not Really! Here is a video that captured a 14 foot hammer head eating from a tarpon from an unsuspecting fishernan''''s hand. It was taped where we rent boats and waverunners in the keys. The little island in the background is where our office and house is located.

A Marina Wedding
Volunteer Landing Marina is a special place with many underlying story lines, just like Wisteria Lane. It truly is a thriving community. That has never been more evident than the love story of Rusty & Dez. Rusty and Dez met while Rusty was living down here at the marina. They have now announced their engagement and will be married, July 17th on their boat, "It's All About Me".
