Attached is the Tennessee River ValleyAssociation Chickamauga Lock Fact Sheet. Without an immediate solution to the insolvency of the Inland Waterways Trust Fund, construction at Chickamauga will be suspended in the summer of 2010 only to resume when Trust Fund resources become available, which will be more than a decade at current levels. Congressman Zach Wamp TN3 has pledged to continue efforts to secure needed funding for construction in Congress (see TRVA Fall 2009 Newsletter at: www.trva-tcwc.org). TRVA encourages support for Congressman Wamp's efforts on behalf of this critically needed Tennessee River infrastructure project that impacts the economies of East Tennessee and the entire region.
